Updates From Pakistan E-mail

Hello My Brothers and sisters ,

I hope all is well with you.. I am sorry I could not contact you on daily bases. Anyway Church is growing very fast. School has summer vacation now in a day.

Pakistan is still struggling for its stability. The Taliban are doing suicide attacks almost every day in different parts of Pakistan.

In terms of Pakistan, no place or situation is immune to such incidents. Pakistan has seen a surge in the incidence of suicide bombing with the highest numbers reported in 2007 - there were 71 suicide bombing attacks in one year alone.  In contrast to 22 incidents from 2002 to 2006.
Now the average suicide bombing is one every week. Lahore is also on the Taliban hit list.  Two big attacks have already been happened in Lahore lately.

Businessmen are reluctant to invest money in Pakistan, many factories and companies have been shut down, thousands of workers have lost their jobs. People are overwhelmed with fear, frustration, depression and anxiety.  People are scared to visit any public place. Now you can imagine how it is hard to survive in Pakistan. Every day news papers are decorated with bloody dead bodies and scattered organs of the victims of the suicide bombing.

This Sunday I spoke on 1Jn.4:7-12 that how we can show GodÂ’s love to our neighbor regardless of any religious discrimination.  As I already mentioned that people are frustrated and depressed and have no hope for any improvement in Pakistan. I do believe this is the best time to show God to those who do not believe in God through our love. So they can see God in you and glorify Him.

What Has Been Done So Far?

Here is the current status of School building:

No doubt we do not have much funds to accomplish this whole building work but we can at least finish up the roof work within the limited funding which you provided us for this great cause.  Here is the estimate of the School building.

Cost of the land 1450sft - $11,666
Cost of boundary walls - $5,000
Cost of roof RCC, electrification, sanitary work, inner & outer plaster, paint & floor materials - $19,166
Total Project Cost - $35,832

Construction Progress
The cost of the land $11,666 is donated by my Father.  The boundary wall work ($5,000) and RCC Roofing ($5,000), has also been completed and amount is paid to contractor.  Now, amount $14,166 is required for the remaining work (installation of electricity, plumbing, inner and outer plaster, paint and flooring).
