Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ, In
January 2007, Sam returned to Pakistan to continue his
work with the people there. Upon arriving there Sam was met with many
challenges. He moved back into his parents house, he began a long
journey of readjusting to Pakistani life after 2 and a half years in
America, he has also come to realize that the financial burden he is on
his parents is great, they are having a very difficult time making ends
meet, all of these adjustments are weighting on Sam.
There
is tremendous need in Pakistan. As Sam let us know in a previous letter
there are many Christian believers who are in need of medical attention
but are unable to afford it, yet they continue to rely on God. Sam
recently heard from a prisoner, Mr. Iqbal, thanking Sam for visiting
and supplying Bible and reference material to further study the word of
God. In Pakistan people are threatened by the guards when they visit
prisoners who are sentenced to death so many of them have not received
visitors for up to 12 years, but in the message of Christ they have
found a hope. Sam is hoping to help as many Pakistanis that the Lord
will allow to be reached. Before
Sam came to America he started a school. The school has about 30
students. The school meets in the church building which holds only 50
people. The children are learning at seven different levels which make
it difficult to learn, yet 100% of children passed their tests to be
promoted to the next grade. Some of the parents are admitting their
children to others schools because the school does not have a proper
building or teaching staff. Many Muslims are reluctant to send their
children to a school that is housed in a Christian Church.
Sam's
father has donated his land for a place to build the school. Sam needs
$10, 000 dollars to begin the building of the school. I
know that this seems like a lot of money but if we join together it can
be accomplished. Even if you can not give to this project in a monetary
fashion, please pray for New Hope Christian Ministries of Pakistan and
pray also for Sam and his family.
